Multiple Internships with Health Affairs Project Hope

Project HOPE is an international NGO of more than 900 engaged employees and hundreds of volunteers who work in more than 20 countries, responding to the world’s most pressing global health challenges. Throughout our 60 +year legacy, Project HOPE has treated millions of patients and provided more than $3 billion worth of medicines to local health care organizations around the world. We have helped build hundreds of health programs from the ground up and responded to humanitarian crises worldwide.

Qualitative Research Project Intern. The Intern will provide support to the Editorial department of Health Affairs at Project HOPE for a Health Affairs project designed to enhance the usefulness of qualitative research for health policy. S/he/they will gain valuable knowledge and experience about the use of qualitative research in health policy, academic publishing, the collection and analysis of qualitative data, project management, and synthesis of expert opinions.

Taxonomy and Information Architecture Intern. The Intern will support the publishing taxonomy and discoverability strategy of the Health Affairs Marketing & Digital Team. S/he/they will gain valuable knowledge and experience about scholarly publishing taxonomy and metadata, leveraging a taxonomy to improve website user experience, and working with a technology vendor. S/he/they will also gain a deeper understanding of specific humanitarian crisis as well as NGO, UN and USG responses

Subscription Sales & Data Intern. The Intern will provide sales prospecting and subscription data support to the Health Affairs Subscription Sales Team of Project HOPE. S/he/they will gain valuable knowledge and experience about how a subscription program is managed, as well as learn new technologies including a CRM and fulfillment database. S/he/they will also gain a deeper understanding of specific humanitarian crisis as well as NGO, UN and USG responses.

Data Visualization Intern. The Intern will provide research and analysis of data graphics, infographics, charts, and graphs to the Graphic Design and Production Teams at Health Affairs, of Project HOPE. The Intern will gain valuable knowledge and experience about best practices for displaying data in an interactive and engaging way, specifically in the field of health care and health policy.

Qualifications:
Junior or Senior Undergraduate
Graduate Student Preferred
Strong research, writing, and editing skills
Ability to multi-task and prioritize various tasks in a fast-paced work environment
Ability to work effectively and accurately with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and internet applications
Ability to work productively in a team environment as well as under minimal supervision, taking the initiative to ask questions as needed
